Jen's Departure
We raise our hands to our hearts and say a solemn farewell to one of the best leaders this clan has seen. With the help of Egekalaycan and Jak_G, I made a short video.
http://www.clipmoon.com/videos/1528634/jen-s-farewell.html
I asked our two Council members if they had anything to say on the topic of Jen's departure.
<Morogoddess> Jen has been there for me through thick and thin and I will miss her immensely. I wish her the best of luck with life and hope she'll still call me when she needs someone to talk to.
<Jak_G> I wish her the best in all of her endeavours, she deserves everything she achieves. Ive known her one of the longest in the clan, and never seen a bad side to her. Good luck Jen, im rooting for you ;)
A quote from Jen herself: Tell everyone I love them and HOLY FORD A CAMARO@@@@@T.E.H.'s Official Podcast
Podcast 10 Podcast 11 This Month's InterviewThis month, Jak_G interviewed the new addition to the Event Staff team, Dude40003!
<Jak_g> Ok, as you all know I am the Event Council. Today I am doing the interview, with our newest Event Staff Dude40003/Kris, so then Kris how long have you been playing Runescape? <Dude40003> Hey, I have been playing runescape for about 3 years, with a 9 month break, when i went "off" runescape <Jak_g> I see, the breaks are ideal for keeping a healthy desire to play. So then in that time, you must have accomplished a lot of goals. So what was the thing that convinced you to join The Eleventh Hour? <Dude40003> Well back in the old days, i used to use Rune hq A LOT, for quests and help. I came across TORC, i had been in a few clans before but this looked like a big friendly community, with many events that i could take part in, i couldn't resist the temptation and joined <Jak_g> I see, Runehq played a large part in recruitment back in them days. However when you joined, what was your aspiration? <Dude40003> Overall, i had heard about warring, i searched on youtube and came across some of the big wars TORC had. So in a way, i wanted to make some new friends, but also get better at warring, but have fun whilst doing it. <Jak_g> Yeah, being a Warlord allows you to do that and more, you now have the oppurtunity to find your own wars and show others, but being promoted to Event staff must of been a shock, what was your intial reaction when you were asked to become Event Staff? <Dude40003> Well, seeing as i was told over ventrilo, my immediate reaction was "Is this a joke?" When Cal explained to me that he gave me Event staff to try and give me the oppurtunity to try to make The Eleventh Hour better at warring. I understood and that has been my task for the past few weeks, by taking training a lot more seriously and getting wars we are capable of winning. <Jak_g> I see, you now have the oppurtunity to do that. So by gaining this position, your current aspiration is to fulfil your tasks, or is it something else? <Dude40003> I would overall like to make The Eleventh Hour better at warring, i wouldn't say i want to make Teh a warring clan, Because i know that won't happen, but i guess you could say my aspiration is to fulfil my tasks, But also to make our members more interested in learning about warring by coming to trainings and wars. <Jak_g> I see, good luck with them goals. I am there all the way if you need me. So how are you finding your new position? <Dude40003> At the moment, it isn't that challenging, i have found my first war, that we are having in a few weeks and i also have a CastleWars event later, my only stumbles are when it comes to closing those topics after they have been approved. "That is for the council usergroup only Kris" As you might remember Jak <Jak_g> Well, that wasn't my fault. You just clicked the wrong one, you can still close your topics. But you are a Warlord, are you happy with that position, or would you rather have been a Skiller to keep little lonely Dan company? <Dude40003> I am sure we will find little Dan some company soon but Warlord is my place, I'm born and bred a Warrer and always will be. Sorry Dan, you will have to wait a little longer <Jak_g> Ok, poor Dan. But onto the final question, what is cooler a Pirate or a Ninja? <Dude40003> Well, the only ninja i can think in the clan, is Dragongod, But i do like pirates, it's a hard decision, i think Dgod would kill me with a ninja star if i said Pirates, so i will choose Ninja. * Dude40003 hopes there isn't a pirate that hates ninja's in the clan <Jak_g> Good choice, but that concludes the interview. Thanks for your time Kris <Dude40003> Thanks, it's been a pleasure Jak =]
Upcoming Events Here's a list of a few upcoming events in July:
War with TSL against VW Games Room War against SoI Fight Pits with TDM Pyramid Plunder Ape Atoll Agility
In War threads, remember to make sure you vote in the attendance poll!
Event, Forum, and Chat Activity
Caleb would like me to announce his TEH_Bot. I believe he plans to use it to overthrow the clan and steal cheese.
I will also include a note from me about the recent war against Lethality. Excellent fighting from everyone. I would especially like to point out the tanking from Ray and leadership from Fatsoman999 & Dude40003. It was an amazing win, and I hope we can keep this up in future.
Graphix of the Month: June 2009
A short summary of the GOTM: What you have to do is create a set consisting of a signature and an avatar that both relate to the theme of the month. You can be as creative as you want, as long as the set is appropriate, relates to the theme, and (of course) has your name on it. Then, you send in your entries to Tarahiro, as she will be heading the competition. Then, once all entries are in, a topic will be set up so members can vote for which they feel is the best set out there.
Last month's theme was Summer. Congratulations to Cluck_Joe13 for winning the competition with his entry:

July's theme is America. Quite a wide theme this time. You can make anything from an artistic workover of the "hollywood" letters, to Elvis. If it's in america, made by america, eaten by americans, sat on by americans, LOL'd at by americans etc..... then you can make it.
Good luck to you all!
Riddle of the Month There was no riddle last month. We do have one this month though so get that brain working and answer this:
A Varrock Guard on night patrol dreams that the king of Varrock will drown at sea. He tells the King so in the morning, but the King tells him not to worry and sails off anyway. When he returns from his voyage, he fires the Guard. Why did the King fire the Guard?
If you would like to suggest any future riddles, please send a private message to Tarahiro (Cath).
Closing Statements It has been a lot of fun working on this edition of the T.E.H Times. I hope you all enjoy reading it and even though Jen is no longer a leader here, you will still see monthly installments of this! :)
In other news, Lord_Sobek turns 19 today. Be sure to wish him a happy birthday and I am sure he will appreciate it once he sobers himself up! ;D
If you see any typos, missing information, mistakes, or would just like to suggest anything for future editions, please send a private message to Tarahiro (Cath).
My Time Has ComePosted On Tuesday, 30 June 2009 by Moonfire248On June 25, 2006, a new member applied and was accepted into The Official RuneHQ Clan, or TORC. This member didn't know what a clan was like, so naturally, she was nervous. However, she soon made her required 30 posts after two weeks (she didn't even know how to post) and was a full Legends member.
No one knew what this girl would bring.
She started to attend events, make friends, and have fun in the chat. Before she knew it, she was invited to become a Player Mod. After a day of thought, she accepted. Pretty soon, she developed "The Royalty of T.O.R.C." design for signatures. It became popular very quickly. Everything seemed to be going great.
One day in September, however, this girl went to Clan Friend because she was not doing her chores. So, she believed that if she left the clan, she could focus better and not get into trouble with her parents so often.
That didn't last long. She still logged on and was as active as ever. Within a week she was back as Heroes because of the latest level requirement changes. A little over a week later, she was invited and accepted into the Elites group.
Soon afterwards, she began writing her first RuneScape fanfiction story, The Calling, which quickly became a favorite among many members. The story is one of, if not the, longest-lasting stories in this clan, and will one day be completed. (I PROMISE!!!!)
Time went by, and this member became more active, helpful towards others, and made many new friends. Before she knew it, she was promoted to Training Staff. She could not believe where she was going!
Once she became Staff, she trolled the forums for any topics that needed to be closed, any disciplines that needed to be made, and created quite a few events. She was loving her job of maintaining the forums. It was her favorite thing to do (and still is).
Over time, many disturbing and upsetting events occurred, such as clan splits, terrible member bannings, staff promotions/demotions, and many disagreements between Staff members, but this girl kept going. She was not about to give up on the clan she had come to love so much.
After a few months of being Staff, she was promoted to a new, experimental group called Council Assistants, whose duties were to relay information between Staff and Council, and to take care of issues that Council didn't need to involve themselves in. The group didn't last long as it didn't truly serve its original purpose, and was quickly removed - but not before this member was promoted to full Council and was put in charge of forum issues.
She couldn't believe how far she had come. Almost one year of her time in the clan had passed, and here she was, already full Council. How did she make it here? She just couldn't believe it. To this day, she still can't believe it.
More upsetting events occurred, but still she stayed with the clan, even as the clan went from TORC to TEH, or The Eleventh Hour. She had many, much-treasured friends that she didn't want to leave, despite an attempt or two to do so. Sadly, during this time, her activity started to drop a bit, then a whole lot. It took a lot of effort to come back to where she used to be, but she did it.
Another year went by, and another unbelievable (to her) thing happened: On March 18, 2008, she was promoted to Leader! She couldn't believe now, that in almost two whole years, she was Leader, a position she thought she'd never be in. It took a while to get used to her new roles and duties, but she did a fine job. Everything seemed to be going fine...
That is, until the WM/CM reform.
It was originally an idea that most Staff welcomed, but when it was enacted, many of the members didn't approve. They didn't like how Elites were removed, saying they had nothing to look forward to anymore. Many members left, cursing at Staff and hoping the clan would die. A few who left started their own clans in retaliation. This reform really stressed out the fresh Leader so much, she didn't know what to do. Over the next few months, activity in all areas declined rapidly, boding ill tidings for the clan and its members.
The day that Im4eversmart and Lord Sobek left was a sad day for everyone, but even more stressful for the younger Leader. She suddenly had to figure out how to get activity up, how recruiting members should go, making sure the RuneHead was updated frequently, and many other things. For the next several months, she relied on her Council friends, Tarahiro and Fireninja99, to help her out with many things while the other leader, Woman173, was busy with work. In short, she was the only Leader of the clan.
Finally, on October 13, 2008, this member promoted Tarahiro to Leader so she could head the events and allies portion of the clan, leaving the forums and member issues to this girl. Soon afterward, the old system of Heroes, Legends, and Elites was brought back, and activity started to pick up. Everything seemed to be going great again.
Time passed, things changed, and this Leader is now the person you see today. She has watched this clan go through its ups and downs, mood swings, and knows that this clan will never be the same. She also knows that this clan will always be #1 in her eyes. This clan will be her first...and her last. But forever, she will love this clan and remember everything, from her friends to the times she's been through.
------------------------------
Guys, it pains me to say this, but as of today, I will no longer be Leader. I've been getting busy, and have lost pretty much all interest in RuneScape. As a result, I have not been performing my proper duties and roles as a Leader of a RuneScape clan. I need to get on in life, and if I keep trying to keep up with you guys, I'm just going to stress out and worry over what I've missed. I can't do that anymore.
I love you all. I would mention you one by one, but you guys know who you are, and you know what I would say. You guys truly are great friends, and this clan has been so good to me. I'm glad that, way back when, I was persuaded to join this wonderful clan. I will not ever regret that day.
I may be a pink name now (AAAHHH PIIIIINK!!), but don't think I've disappeared forever. I'll check in often, see how you guys are doing, help support your warring efforts, and pray you make the right decisions.
I'll be around for advice if any of you just want to talk, get something off your chest, or just want to complain about anyone or anything. You know I've been this clan's "counselor" for a long while now, and I still like that job. Having a pink name doesn't change that. :P
Take care of yourselves. I wish you all the best.
